Organic Olive Oil Producer Bellucci Premium Comments on the Suggested Intake Level of Olive Oil and How to Incorporate More Olive Oil Into a Diet

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) October 29, 2013

Bellucci Premium makes a statement following an article that shares the recommended intake of olive oil and how to meet that recommendation by eating more sofrito, an olive oil based tomato sauce.

According to a Scientific America article published on October 25th titled, “The new/old way to get your daily dose of olive oil,” olive oil is a large part of the Mediterranean diet. It has been known to have many health benefits, including reducing the risk of heart disease.

According to the article, organizations such as the American Heart Association do not provide a recommended daily intake of olive oil. However, many large studies recommend around 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil a day. This amount falls below the recommended fat intake standard put forth by the AHA.

Sofrito, a Spanish tomato sauce that consists of tomatoes and onions cooked in olive oil is one way that the article recommends including more olive oil into your diet. “The Mediterranean diet study researchers advised their subjects to eat two or more servings of sofrito per week, encouraging them to use it as a dressing for vegetables, pasta and rice.”

“Everyone is going to have their own favorite way to incorporate olive oil into their diet,” says Natalie Sexenian, marketing manager for organic olive oil producer Bellucci Premium. “It is important to remember that while olive oil contains good fats, it should still be used in moderation. Stay within a daily intake of around 4 tablespoons to get the right amount of antioxidants and health benefits without going over your daily fat intake.”

Bellucci offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy.
