Low Carbohydrate Diets – Good Or Bad For Weight Loss?

Low carbohydrate diets have been around for quite some time now and I’m sure everyone has heard about them at least once in their lifetime. The question is ‘Do they really work as they promise?’ Is fast weight loss possible with low-carb diets?


The answer is NO. Every average dieter will always find the low-carb diets hard to follow because there are several problems that make shedding pounds difficult.


A good example is the Atkins diet, one of the most popular low carbohydrate diets online, that has a very severe restriction on carbohydrates on the first two weeks of the diet.


If you didn’t know, the Atkins diet only allows only 20 grams of carbs each day for the first two weeks of the diet which is pretty impossible to cope with simply because even an average sized apple contains more than 20 grams of carbs. A low level of carbs makes your body weak and in most of the cases a slight depression might occur which isn’t what you really want. Feeling miserable throughout any diet can only mean failure..


Why would you feel miserable when eating such a low level of carbs?


As most people know carbohydrates give you energy therefore a low level of energy will make you feel miserable all day along. There are several other popular low-carb diets online that are not quite as severe as the Atkins. A good example is The South Beach Diet which in fact isn’t more effective than the Atkins either.


We have personally tested most diets and found out that the reason people often give up is mainly because the diet is difficult to follow and the lack of energy usually affects anyone’s psyche. We believe that a successful weight loss diet has to be simple to follow and this is the only way that you can stick to the plan and lose weight effectively.


As a conclusion we believe that low-carb diets are not the solution to a fast weight loss. You’re body needs all types of calories in order to burn fat a lot faster (fat, carbs and protein).
